Kirsten Hollister is a self-taught Interior Designer that began her career in Fashion as a Buyer for the upper Midwest’s world class department stores Marshall Field’s, Dayton’s and Hudson’s. After six years in corporate merchandising she was promoted to Marketing and served as the Fashion Office Manager executing all fashion-related events including the spectacular Glamorama, numerous Designer Shows and Charity Benefits.
Kirsten worked with many acclaimed Designers including: Cynthia Rowley, Michael Kors, Donna Karan, and Badgley Mischka overseeing each designer’s vision replicated down the runway and also serving as a trend expert and fashion spokesperson for Dayton’s and Marshall Fields.
After 11 years in Fashion, Kirsten and her family decided to move to Switzerland for a career opportunity and for the family to experience a new culture. Kirsten and her family enjoyed living in Winterthur, Switzerland for three years. In Europe, Kirsten’s interest in Interiors and Interior Decorating blossomed into her current profession. “I was so inspired by the unique products and beautiful homes and shops that I knew I had to bring this European aesthetic back to the U.S.” said Kirsten. From spotting trends on the runway to finding new trends for the home, it is Kirsten’s unique ability identify, interpret and integrate these trends into a beautiful environment for her clients that has resulted in her growth into a successful Interior Designer and aspiring Product Developer.
Kirsten was chosen as one of three winners in the national magazine, “O at Home” “Knock, Knock, It’s Nate” design contest. As a result of this honor Kirsten and her Design work were featured in the November 2007 issue of “O at Home”. Her Design work was also highlighted on “The Oprah Winfrey Show”. In addition, Kirsten’s Design work will be featured in several Better Homes and Gardens publications in 2008. |
